Bugs, browsers and etc.

Working – designed a layout, converting it into HTML, thinking its a 15mins job…ok, 30 mins job..na, 1 hour is fine or perhaps 2 hours. But hey, what’s this, I’ve spent almost an entire day to fix up this nasty bug and formatting issue. WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON!! Screaming, cursing, snarling, etc and etc and etc…

…and this is precisely what happens. Why on earth do we have so many browsers. As if IE, Firefox, Opera & Netscape were not enough of a pain, we also have to make sites work in AOL, Safari, ABC and the entire gamut. Someone please have mercy on the poor web designer! This diagram depicits my state of misery. Infact, I would like to go beyond it and say that the best thing would be to have one version of Firefox (version1.5), and trash all the other browsers with all their fancy versions. Oh, all mighty HTML, please help! i_love_ie.gif

I disappear…

October 14, 2006 · 1 Comment

I disappear…no, not the song from Metallica for Mission Impossible. My internet was down a hell lot this week.  So, I couldn’t post stuff here ontime and am putting them as and when I had written them down. I really hate my ISP. The engineer came to check the net line today, after lodging a complain during the start of the week. I want to change my connection asap. I think MTNL offers a good deal – might just check that out. For someone who is so addicted to being online, even if I’m not on chat or checking mails, having the net down is like suffering. Anyways, hoping that its going to be ok now.

Story-time

Image MissingMeet Scott.

Scott is a computer professional. One day, Scott was walking around the net. He saw many .htmls and .pdfs. He also came across plenty of images on his way to the server. All of a sudden, he looked across to see a ‘missing image’. Scott wondered what happened to the image – why it was missing and what could be done to fix it. As he was investigating the matter, the image jumped on Scott and started eating into his head. Our poor hero struggled and staggered in pain and frustration to get the missing image off his head but in vain. In the end, the fateful image consumed him and Scott had to go away, leaving the window empty and blank.

Moral of the story: If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. If it is broken, then save your head and run away!
